Terawatt Energy (TE), a leading solar solutions provider, has partnered with four major clean energy firms to introduce an advanced solar energy service model in Thailand. As part of this initiative, TE has signed an MOU with JA Solar and SIGENERGY, securing exclusive distribution rights for SIGENERGY’s SigenStor system, a cutting-edge AI-powered solar energy solution.
SigenStor integrates batteries and artificial intelligence to optimize energy storage and efficiency. This partnership is expected to drive TE’s revenue growth to 580 million baht in 2025.
According to Chawanun Thongpha, Executive Director of Business Development and Technology at Terawatt Energy, the company was formed through the merger of Marvel Solar Energy, Siva Solar Energy, Ch. Energy System, and Friend Stone Intertrade, creating a comprehensive clean energy ecosystem to advance Thailand’s solar industry. TE offers a one-stop solar energy solution, including panels, inverters, installation services, and financing options to help businesses and homeowners transition to solar energy.
The solar energy market is growing globally and in Thailand. The global market is projected to reach $150-180 billion by 2025 and expand to $215.9 billion by 2030. In Thailand, the market is expected to reach 67,268 million baht ($2 billion) by 2025, driven by declining costs, government incentives, increased awareness, and financial support from banks. However, challenges such as installation gaps and battery storage efficiency remain. TE aims to address these challenges by providing high-quality solar solutions and exclusive access to SIGENERGY’s advanced inverter technology.
Thanakrit Chotipetch, Managing Director of SIGENERGY Thailand, emphasized that the company specializes in solar energy solutions, inverters, and battery energy storage systems (BESS) for residential and commercial applications. Since its launch in mid-2022, SIGENERGY has generated five billion baht in revenue within two years and has gained market presence in Europe and Australia.
Through its collaboration with Terawatt Energy, SIGENERGY has introduced ‘SigenStor’, a 5-in-1 energy storage system that combines a solar inverter, EV charger, battery management, and energy storage capabilities. The system supports Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) technology, allowing electric vehicles to function as backup power sources during outages. It also integrates an AI-powered mySigen app, utilizing ChatGPT-4o, to provide real-time energy management insights.
Additionally, SIGENERGY has launched ‘SigenStack’, a scalable BESS solution for commercial use, offering expandable storage up to 253 kWh per unit. The system is designed for cost efficiency, safety, and durability, featuring multiple safety mechanisms, low noise operation, and IP66 protection.
TE, apart from being SIGENERGY’s exclusive distributor, is also a key partner for JA Solar, offering T-LOCK solar panel mounting equipment with a 20-year warranty, T-CABLE wiring solutions exceeding TUV (Germany) standards, and a nationwide distribution network for efficient delivery and reduced costs. Their customer base includes EPC contractors, solar installers, businesses, and residential consumers.
TE’s strategy revolves around building strong alliances with domestic and international partners, providing clean energy solutions, installer training, marketing campaigns, and financing support. The company’s goal is to make solar technology more accessible and affordable in Thailand, accelerating the country’s transition to renewable energy.
Ultimately, Terawatt Energy aims to go beyond selling solar equipment, focusing on long-term success for all stakeholders. By integrating global clean energy innovations, TE is committed to driving sustainable energy adoption in Thailand.
