Livguard, one of India’s fastest-growing energy storage and solar solutions brands under the SAR Group, has announced the appointment of Sameer Nagpal as its new Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The move signals a strategic shift as the company sets its sights on scaling innovation, expanding market presence, and strengthening its position in India’s rapidly evolving clean energy landscape.
With a career spanning more than three decades, Nagpal brings a wealth of cross-industry experience to Livguard. He has held top leadership roles at prominent companies such as Dalmia Bharat Ltd., Shalimar Paints, Trane Technologies, Carrier Corporation, and ZICOM Electronic Security Systems. Known for driving transformational growth and executing strategic turnarounds, Nagpal’s leadership has consistently delivered long-term value across both Indian and multinational corporations.
In his new role, Nagpal will spearhead Livguard’s efforts to expand its footprint across residential, commercial, and industrial energy segments. His primary focus will be on advancing innovation in battery storage technologies, lithium-based energy systems, and integrated solar solutions—key enablers of India’s sustainable energy goals.
“I am thrilled to join Livguard at such a pivotal time for the energy industry,” said Sameer Nagpal. “As India rapidly transitions to clean energy, we have a tremendous opportunity to provide cutting-edge, accessible, and reliable solutions that empower households and businesses alike. My goal is to build agile, high-performing teams that deliver customer-centric innovations while staying true to Livguard’s core values of reliability, sustainability, and forward-thinking.”
Rakesh Malhotra, Founder of SAR Group, welcomed Nagpal’s appointment, stating, “We are delighted to bring Sameer on board. His deep understanding of business strategy, innovation, and team-building aligns perfectly with our mission of shaping the future of energy in India. His people-first leadership and long-term growth vision make him the ideal person to take Livguard to new heights.”
As the renewable energy sector continues to gain momentum, especially in solar and battery energy storage, Nagpal’s leadership is expected to further solidify Livguard’s position as a trusted leader in sustainable energy solutions. His appointment comes at a time when India is aiming for 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030, with battery storage expected to play a critical role in ensuring grid stability and enabling the adoption of clean technologies.
With over 80,000 customers and a growing network across India, Livguard is poised to expand its impact in the country’s green energy ecosystem under Sameer Nagpal’s strategic guidance.
